Label

A special brand guaranteeing a product’s conformity to standards dictated by legislation or by industry regulations. In France, the Ministry of Agriculture authorizes use of the terms Agriculture Biologique (Organically Grown), Certification de Conformité, and Label Rouge (Red Label) on recommendation of the national commission on labels and certifications of agricultural and food products. AOC is also a label, recognized by the INAO (Institut National des Appellations d’Origine).
